Patent System Gears

International forum shopping, post-America Invents Act litigation strategy and the strategic use of standards-essential patents. What more could a patent wonk want?

These and other topics are featured at the George Mason University and University of Texas law schools’ 8th Annual Advanced Patent Law Institute. And Patent Truth will be there to blog and tweet all the action at the two-day event, held at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Va.

USPTO Deputy Director Teresa Stanek Rea, other senior officials at the agency and judges from across the patent-court milieu will join law professors, patent litigators and in-house lawyers to parse the latest developments in patent law.

SEPs – a subject near and dear to Patent Truth’s heart – is likely to get a lot of attention, especially during a discussion of recent FTC/DOJ views and investigations. That session takes place Friday morning at 10:30.

But be sure to follow us on Twitter @PatentTruth for live updates from the event today and through the whole conference.
